چکیده

Introduction Atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) is the most common regular supraventricular arrhythmia. It typically presents with rapid and regular palpitations of abrupt onset in young adults, with a female preponderance. In patients without structural heart disease, AVNRT is largely considered to have a benign course and is rarely associated with disabling symptoms, such as syncope. Herein, we report the case of an otherwise healthy young woman with a catastrophic presentation of AVNRT.

Fast pathway ablation in patients with common atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia and prolonged PR interval during sinus rhythm.

AIMS This study aimed to clarify the safety and efficacy of selective fast pathway ablation in patients with atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia and a prolonged PR interval during sinus rhythm. Such patients have been reported to have an increased incidence of complete atrioventricular block. METHODS AND RESULTS In this study, the earliest retrograde atrial activation during atrioven...

Flecainide-induced incessant orthodromic atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia in Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome: Uneven depression of accessory pathway conduction

Introduction During orthodromic atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia (AVRT), ventricles are activated anterogradely through the atrioventricular node and retrogradely through an accessory pathway (AP). Antiarrhythmic drugs are initially used to prevent recurrences of AVRT, whereas catheter ablation is frequently performed as a definitive treatment. Occasionally, catheter ablation can be “proa...

Uncommon Presentation of a Common Tachycardia

We describe a patient with an implanted pacemaker for impaired AV conduction who presented with an incessant tachycardia. EP study showed that the tachycardia was atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) with repeated spontaneous initiation because of poor or absent antegrade fast pathway conduction. Slow pathway ablation was successful in terminating the tachycardia and making it n...

Congenitally corrected transposition of great vessels with infundibular pulmonary stenosis with ventricular septal defect, presenting with atypical atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia: a rare association

Congenitally corrected transposition of great vessels (CCTGV) is a rare congenital heart disease (CHD) accounting for <1% of CHDs. CCTGV with infundibular pulmonary stenosis (PS) with ventricular septal defect (VSD) is part of Fallot's physiology. It is known to be associated with bradyarrhythmias like atrioventricular (AV) blocks, and acquired complete AV block occurs at a rate of 2% per year....

Incessant tachycardia using a concealed atrionodal bypass tract.

A case of incessant supraventricular tachycardia continuing despite AV block is reported. Atrial tachycardia and AV nodal reentrant tachycardia were excluded, as was orthodromic tachycardia using a concealed accessory AV pathway. The earliest retrograde atrial activation was at the posterolateral tricuspid annulus, and the tachycardia was eliminated by ablation at this site. The findings in thi...
